Shanghai, China – Recently, results of Shanghai Intellectual Property Innovation Award were released. This activity was carried out jointly by Shanghai Municipal Bureau of human resources and social security, Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration. A patent named Stent-Graft System and its usage of Hercules™ Low-Profile Thoracic Stent-Graft System（“Hercules™-LP”）,which belongs to Shanghai MicroPort Endovascular MedTech Co., Ltd (“Endovasctec™”), won second prize of patent and trademark in the Shanghai Intellectual Property Innovation Award with its cultivation, transformation and industrialization of high-value intellectual property. Endovasctec™ was awarded the Shanghai Patent Work Pilot Enterprise in 2017.

Hercules™-LP is an upgrade to the Hercules™ Thoracic Stent-Graft System, which is used primarily for the interventional treatment of thoracic aortic aneurysms. This product makes the positioning and release of the stent graft more precise and stable through the bare stent release mechanism. It is one of the earliest thoracic aortic stent products with the outer sheath diameter of the delivery system in the domestic market, the first thoracic aortic aneurysm ("TAA") stent to have low profile delivery system with 18F outer diameter, which can benefit more patients. In addition, its soft inner sleeves are made of PET, which makes it easier for the stent to cross the aortic arch. Its stent has a large taper design with a taper of 0-10mm, which is more consistent with the pathological characteristics of aortic dissection. And its main body section becomes higher, which improves the overall flexibility of the stent. Hercules™-LP enables effective treatment of thoracic aortic disease and facilitate physicians to cope with the challenges in clinical treatment.
